Before each event, students are assigned alter-egos corresponding to the key actors involved in EU policy making,
and they research these roles using a web-site tailored to the EU policy/issue at hand.
During EuroSim, the simulation is almost entirely run and directed by the students themselves.

"I had a great time at EuroSim. Not only was it interesting to meet students from other schools
and other countries, but it was also a great learning experience. Although I had already learned
about the Europen Union in class, I didn’t feel that I had a very good understanding of how
everything really worked. By going to EuroSim I really got a good understanding of how the
European government works. This trip was also a great reminder of why I am studying Government
and Politics; The simulation gave us a first hand experience of what it may be like to work in
the government, which is a different feeling than just reading about the process in books or
learning about it in a classroom. I am really looking forward to going on the trip next year
to Germany which will give us an even broader understanding of Europe because we will actually

"My involvement in Eurosim 2007 in Buffalo, NY, was a fun and learning experience.
Eurosim 2007 was my first time participating in Eurosim, and I had an amazing experience.
I learned a lot about the workings of the European Union and European law making. This
experience allowed me to meet people from other Universities as well as other countries,
and expand my network of friends and acquaintances. Having the ability to play the Head of
Government of Malta, was great. I was able to learn how difficult it is for small states
such as Malta to voice their opinions in the European Union, but also how rewarding it is
when other countries begin to listen and form alliances. This experience allowed me to utilize
my research skills, public speaking, as well as critical thinking skills. I would recommend this
kind of simulation to anyone with the slightest interest in International Relations or
