What is AITP?. [Check out AITP International at http://www.aitp.org ]

AITP is an international organization which promotes a better understanding of the role of information processing management and society. Widener University has a very active, award-winning student chapter of AITP. By joining AITP, students can attend programs and social meetings of the Widener student chapter, receive newsletters describing activities, and attend the Philadelphia local and regional meetings at a reduced cost. Our chapter invites speakers from industry to address topics including employment opportunities and careers in information technology related areas, we take tours of local companies, and students attend national conferences. Full-time Graduate students are welcomed to join at a student rate of $40. Part-time graduate students are welcome to join at the Philadelphia AITP chapter.

See Dr. Antonucci in the Quick Center Room 126 or Dr. Goeke in Quick Center 123 if you are interested. Everyone is invited to attend the meetings.

Widener Students have attended all AITP national conferences - that's 13 years!! - They have gone to places like, Texas, Wisconsin, Florida, Indiana, Kansas, Nebraska, Atlanta, Dallas, Detroit, Memphis .....
Our students have competed in the paper competition, the poster competition, web development, Frontpage, Database, Systems Analysis, Networking, Java.....

Several students have returned with awards!!

Receive Job Postings - as a member you are placed on a distribution list that will receive notices of job posting as soon as they are received - even as an alumni you continue receiving this information as long as you wish!
Eligible for AITP annual awards - there are 2 AITP annual awards - only AITP members are eligible to receive these awards. The two awards are: Outstanding Participation - awarded to the AITP student who contributed the most time and effort to AITP during that academic year; Academic Excellence - awarded to the graduating AITP student (within 18 credits) with the highest GPA.
Go on Tours - Periodically our group will tour a company's computing facility.
Access to AITP National Resources - as an AITP member you have full access to AITP resources at the national headquarters... check out their web site! http://www.aitp.org

YOUR MEMBERSHIP IS GOOD FOR ONE FULL YEAR FROM THE TIME YOU JOIN!
4 Simple Steps

Pick up or download and print the membership form

Membership forms can be picked up in the lobby of the Quick Center
Download a Microsoft Word Version of the Membership form

Simply fill out a membership form
Write out a check or money order in the amount of $40 to AITP
Drop them off at the Quick Center in either the MIS Lab or in Room 126.

Dr. Antonucci was named 1999-2000 Advisor of the Year!

We have won the Region 11 Outstanding Chapter award 9 times!

We were awarded the 1998-1999 4-year institution award in October 1999. A joint award from AITP and the Education Foundation.

Widener AITP has achieved the SCOPA (Student Chapter outstanding Performance Award) every year firom 1985-2007! That's 22 years in a row !!
