Introduction
The issue of Business Process Management (BPM) continues to receive much attention. As organizations continue to examine their business processes in an effort to improve them, the issue of staffing the necessary skills and positions needed for business process endeavors has increased. In fact, the Gartner group (2006) has stated that there will be a lack of these skills in the marketplace through 2012. The understanding of business process management skills and characteristics associated with superior performance in organizational business process initiatives will provide organizations the knowledge to help hire business process expertise.
Purpose of Study
We are seeking the views and issues that you face, in light of the reported shortage of business process skills and expertise in the marketplace that is expected to continue through 2012 (Gartner Group, 2006). It is expected that the results of this study will help the global community of process professionals validate and identify what tasks and characteristics lead to superior performance in organizational business process initiatives.
Confidentiality
Your participation is voluntary, and you may withdraw consent and cease participation in the study at any time without negative consequences. Detailed results of the survey will be confidential to Widener University. All personal and company specific information will be kept confidential. Published survey results will only contain aggregate information.
All respondents to this survey will receive a full report of the study findings. In addition, each respondent who completes the survey will be eligible to receive a $40 gift certificate from Amazon.com. Gift certificates will be emailed to respondents drawn from one of the five monthly drawings, beginning on May 30, 2008. Respondents can only win one gift certificate. However, names not drawn in the first drawing will be eligible for subsequent drawings. Fifty $40 gift certificates will be awarded - ten names will be chosen in each drawing.
Thank you in advance for your participation.
